My Name is Trish Hallson. I am an English teacher for Lord Selkirk Regional and I have recently joined the Lord Selkirk Divisional lwICT study group. At the high school level, I have been using technology in the classroom for quite some time. Students at the high school level need to keep up with the trends in technology and communication so that as they move on to other things, they have the tools at their disposal to do things in their personal professional and scholarly pursuits with Information Communication Technology.

I have a couple of webpages I have been using for some time now. One is my classroom homepage TRISH which I use as a bulletin board for lessons assignments and links for my students. I also post the internet lesson and direct the kids to it during class time when it applies. For instance, in December the grade twelves went online and completed a quiz on figures of speech that used a hangman game. My Grade eleven's went to a personality sorter tool from a university psychology department website, categorized themselves with a quiz, then applied the personality types to the main characters in Lord Of The Flies.

As I learn about the various tools that are useful and relavent to high school students I will gladly post them here; since the high school is a new member in this partnership I am interested in learning how I might use this technology differently than my colleagues at other levels. In the interest of sharing, I have created a wallwisher site that anyone can post a comment, thought, question or link to: wallwisher

Interesting links that I currently use:
Link to a site called Grammar Bytes... high school students definitely need to reconnect with their grammar skills from time to time.
